2017 Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Festival




    

On November 1, the 2017Sino-Foreign cultural exchange festival was held at the USTC Student Activity Center.To respond to China’s "One Belt One Road", this festival was named “One World One USTC” and organized by Foreign Student Association of USTC in collaboration with USTC Graduate student Union. More than a thousand students, faculties and staffs participated in this wonderful event.  

   

    International  students from more than 20 countries participated in this event. At the  scene, participants enjoyed both the exhibition area and the  performance stage. In the exhibition area, international students set up  their own booth to introduce the culture and history of their country  and people. Foods, clothes, music, artifacts, along with other local  features were presented in posters and handbooks while truly experienced  in communications.

    Bao  Xinhe, the president of the USTC also attended this event. He was  impressed by various foods, handicrafts and national dresses exhibited  by foreign students, and affirmed the importance of the Sino-Foreign  Cultural Exchange Festival in enhancing communications between local and  international students. He also provided advices on this event,  expressing his ardent expectations on the future of Sino-foreign  cultural exchanges.

    On  the stage, the ethnic songs and dances performance attracted a bustling  crowd of local and international students and aroused thunderous  applause and cheers. Most exciting and attractive to the foreign  students is the performance of Tai Chi by Chinese students. In  particular, in the on-site teaching part, the foreign students were  encouraged to joined in, and they learned Tai Chi with full of  enthusiasm and happiness, this helps to spread the Chinese culture  outward and to promote the "One Belt One Road" construction.Traditional  dances performed by Pakistan and Africa students gave us an authentic  taste of their local customs. When students were singing and dancing,  more and more audiences joined the lively activity, singing and dancing  along to the music. Pictures show the foreign students enjoy dancing on  the stage.In the final fashion show part, international students dressed  their national costumes to display features of diverse cultures and to  promote the communication between students from different cultural  backgrounds. This event lasted more than three hours, all the  participants shared a memorable noon and enjoyed a wonderful cultural  feast, the second Sino Foreign Cultural Exchange Festival ended  successfully.
