PAN Jianwei, Academician of the Chinese
Academy of Sciences, became one of the role models as the leader of
quantum communication. He contributes a lot to success of Mozi, the
world’s first quantum satellite, as the chief scientist of the project.
On the evening of February 8, the "Touching China in 2016" awards
ceremony was broadcast on CCTV's synthetically channel. Touching China

in Zhejiang, Dongyang province. He studied in USTC during 1987-1995 and
had received a bachelor's and a master's degree in theoretical physics.
In 1996, he went to Austria to study. In 1999, he received a doctor's
degree in experimental physics from University of Vienna. He was a
postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of experimental physics, University
of Vienna in 1999-2001.
In 2008, he was in the first group of "thousands of people plan." In

satellite "Mozi"(in memory of an ancient Chinese Philosopher and
scientist) which China has independently developed was successfully
launched at the Jiuquan satellite launch center; it’s the first time in

been selected in the top ten scientific and technological progresses in
“Science" magazine. They also have been selected six times by national
academicians in China's top ten scientific and technological progresses
and five times in "annual major progress in physics" selected by the
European Institute of Physics and 4 times in “annual physics Major
events " selected by the American Physical Society.
The other nine most inspiring role models are Sun Jiadong, the chief
designer of China’s lunar probe project. Zhang Chao, the PLA Navy
