The 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma Physics Was Successfully Held




The 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma Physics, organized by Division of Plasma Physics, Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS-DPP) and supported by School of Physical Sciences, USTC, was opened in Hefei, Anhui on November 4th. Over 400 experts in plasma physics, coming from 18 countries, attended the conference.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor ZHUANG Ge from USTC. Vice president LUO Xisheng of USTC delivered a welcome address and made the introduction.

The conference lasted for 5 days, and in-depth discussions were held about cutting-edge developments in areas of cross disciplinary, fundamental plasma, basic plasma, applied plasma, laser plasma, space&geomag plasma, solar/astro plasma and magnetic fusion plasma. There were near 50 invited reports, over 300 oral reports and over 100 poster presentations in total.

Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma Physics is the largest conference in the Asia-Pacific region on plasma physics and relevant technologies. The conference held in Hefei enhanced cooperation and communication with respect to plasma physics between Asia-Pacific countries and universities, and increased China’s impact on this research area.
